Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia’s much awaited friendly match with the Ethiopian giants St. George FC ended after just a quarter of an hour as the heavy rains pounding Ethiopia rendered it unplayable.
The match at the Addis Ababa National Stadium had just kicked off when heavy rains checked in but the game progressed on with Gor Mahia getting the best chance of the afternoon as Ernest Wendo’s pass was met perfectly by Ali Abondo.
Abondo however blasted his shot wide when well placed on the 14th minute and a minute later the referees consulted and found the soggy pitch unplayable thus ordering that it be rescheduled to Friday 15th January at 2pm.
