Failed Bournemouth striker Tokelo Rantie wasn’t even required in the second half of the English Premier League campaign.

Earlier last season he made six appearances but didn’t score.

The 25-year-old had done well in Scandinavia in the past, and was close to a loan move to his former club Malmo in Sweden. The problem for a move outside of England to one of the smaller leagues is to match his wages.

His agent Dario Slomic has spoken about the South African’s future.

“I can confirm that there is concrete interest from a club in Denmark. We are in dialogue with Bournemouth about a transfer,” Slomic told Swedish publication Tipsbladet.

Other South Africans in Denmark include Lebogang Phiri (Brondby), Mandla Masango (Randers) and Stars of Africa Academy graduate Bradley Ralani (Lyngby).

SonderjyskE Sporting director Hans Jorgen Haysen confirmed their interest in Rantie.

“He is one of many players we are watching and he is definitely an interesting player that I remember from his time in Malmo. But right now it is not more than that,” Haysen said.
