Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards will be taking part in the 2016 Simba Day.
Simba Day is an annual, one – day showpiece aimed at marking the Tanzanian Premier League giants Simba SC’s anniversary and this year’s edition will be in commemoration of the team’s 80th anniversary.
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule has confirmed the team has been invited and plans are in place to see the team honor the invite.
The club will have to play against Ushuru FC which is scheduled for Saturday 8 August and he says the tournament will be of great benefit for them.
“Yes, we have the invitation and we will be traveling there after our weekend match against Ushuru FC. We believe the team will gain a lot from this tournament considering the caliber of teams that will be there.
“We have been doing well lately but we also need such kind of tournaments to keep the team in shape,” he stated.
