Captain of the Super Eagles team to the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) tournament, Chima Akas has expressed his desire to become the best left back in Nigeria.
The Sharks FC defender enjoyed a fine 2015 with both club and country and has been tipped by many to graduate into the main Eagles where he can rub shoulders with the likes of Elderson Echejile and Juwon Oshaniwa.
He wants to compete at the highest level of world football and be like his idols, Celestine Babayaro and Roberto Carlos.
‘My role models are Celestine Babayaro and Roberto Carlos,’ he revealed. ‘I want to be one people will be looking up to in future.’
Nigeria play in Group C alongside Niger, Tunisia, and Guinea.
