AFCON Qualifiers: Sinus infection knocks out Egypt star


Team doctors with the Egyptian national team have revealed that Sabry Rahil who plays in the left-back position has been ruled out of  the clash against Nigeria in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers owing to a sinus infection

The Al Ahly defender failed to finish the national team’s training session on Monday after complaining of dizziness before national team’s medical staff later revealed that the 28-year-old player has a sinus infection that has now effectively ruled him out of Tuesday’s match,

Rahil might not be much of a miss for Pharaohs as he didn’t feature in the first leg either.

He was benched for the entire Friday game in Kaduna, as national team manager Hector Cuper picked Zamalek left-back Hamada Tolba to start.

Egypt primed to face Nigeria at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Tuesday.

The Pharaohs go into the game two points clear of the Super Eagles, who sit in the second place with two points.

The Egyptians are keen to avoid defeat in other to stay closer to qualifying for their first AFCON tournament after failing in their last three attempts.
