Spanish giants Real Madrid are reported to be hot on the heels of Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentacur, currently plying his trade with Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

Real were recently served a FIFA ban on transfers for the next two transfer windows and will definitely be looking to cash in on the remaining days of the winter transfer window.

Spanish paper Marca reports that the player has been on the Real Madrid radar for the past year and that his signing has nothing to do with the transfer ban.

The midfielder is rated in the region of 10 million Euros according to Marca and the two parties are locked in negotiations with the Argentine club having given the go ahead as long as the transfer fee is agreed.

The Spanish giants will want to move fast for the player with Italian giants Juventus also linked with the highly rated player.

Further reports though, suggest that Real Madrid may send him on loan back to Boca Juniors after signing him.
