Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has slammed Mario Batotelli and says the Italy striker doesn’t have any visible talent.
The controversial Balotelli sealed a move to Nice from Liverpool this summer after failing to hit the heights at Anfield, and Liverpool legend Fowler says the former Inter Milan striker has no instinct of a striker.
“People still say he’s got talent, but I’ve yet to see any. No scoring instinct, no positional sense, and no progress,” wrote in a column for the Sunday Mirror.
“His agent called Jurgen Klopp a piece of s*** because Liverpool had had enough. But them it’s always someone else’s fault with Mario.”
It is however ironic to see Fowler’s latest opinion on Balotelli, considering that he had praised the 26-year old’s signing when he joined the Reds two years ago.
Fowler said he was given a very good impression of Balotelli’s personality when he left Manchester City, but couldn’t get a good response on his qualities as a striker.
“A really nice guy,” they told me, “a lovable rogue.”
“Yeah, but what’s he like as a striker? Silence.”
