Belgian second tier side Lierse SK has sealed the deal for Kenyan international Ayub Timbe’s permanent move after the winger spent two years on loan with the club.

Top flight side Racing Genk loaned out the midfielder two seasons ago and at the end of the 2015/16 season, he had helped the team avoid relegation with crucial goals, leading to the team opening talks with his parent club.

The agreement has thus been reached, as stated on the club’s official website and he has been handed a three – year deal.

“Lierse and Racing Genk this evening reached an agreement for the signing of Ayub Timbe. Masika who played two seasons at Lierse signed a three year contract with our club,” the statement read.

Masika, who has been a key member of the Kenyan national team, Harambee Stars in the recent matches, made 38 appearances for Lierse during his two – year loan spell, scoring eight goals in the process.

He is one of the two Kenyans in the Belgian second tier, the other being Johanna Omollo who plays for Royal Antwerp.
