Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic is confident the Nerazzurri can win the Scudetto this season despite close attention by Napoli, Fiorentina, and current champions Juventus.
The former Manchester City player says that he is “not afraid to say the word Scudetto” but has tipped the Old Lady as favourites”.
“We’re up there and we want to continue to do well,” Jovetic told Premium Sport.
“We’ll do our best to continue to be leaders. For my part I hope to score a lot of goals and provide assists.
“I’m not afraid to say the word ‘Scudetto’. I believe, if I didn’t I’d stay at home. I wasn’t expecting Inter to be top by Christmas, but it’s good, we’ve deserved it with our work.
“We’re an excellent team, and we’re among the five who will fight to the end. Juve remain the favourites, they’re getting back to form. Then there’s Roma and Napoli and also Fiorentina.”
Jovetic then revealed that the Bianconeri wanted him at the summer but the Beneamata simply made him feel more wanted.
“The truth is that Juventus wanted me, and they spoke with my agent several times, but Inter were more interested.
“I got a call from [sporting director Piero] Ausilio and then [Coach Roberto] Mancini, who explained the project to me.
