Former Gor Mahia forward Michael Olunga seems ever closer to a deal with Swedish top flight side IF Djugardens after receiving glowing praise from the club’s head coach Pelle Olsson.
The coach, after watching him in three friendly matches, admitted he is a very interesting player but could not state openly whether or not he will be signing a deal soon.
His physique and presence in the penalty area are among the features that the coach is looking to gain from and he adds that should he sign up, he will be a big catch.
“As a player, I think he is extremely interesting. We were very pleased with his skills in the matches he played. We are optimistic but I do not have the clearance to say what is happening right now, what the deal would cost, his value or so but as a player, I think he is extremely interesting.
“He has the physique and is young. In the matches against Gefle, Orebro and Bucaresti, he was instrumental especially on many situations in the penalty area. He is a player who scored 40 goals in 60 games last year in Kenyan football and the African cup matches. There is no doubt about it that he would be a big catch,” Olsson was quoted as saying on FotballDirekt.
