Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title contenders Tusker FC head coach Paul Nkata is not letting the pressure drain his gains for the season despite losing a seven point cushion ahead of Gor Mahia in the title race.
The Brewers went to the 24th round of matches seven points clear at the top of table ahead of Gor Mahia who are seeking a fourth straight title, but a draw with Ushuru FC on Sunday 11 September saw the lead cut to just five points before Gor Mahia further reduced it to two with the midweek win over Ulinzi Stars.
Nkata is clutching on belief that his team will overcome the challenge and win the title on his first year with the Ruaraka based team.
“We are not pressured; the league is a marathon and we are in a good position. We can still win it even if it is just by a point so Gor Mahia winning and us drawing should not be much of a concern.
“We will focus on our strengths and keep the eye on the prize as we head to the coming matches,” he said.
