Mungai happy to be back home

AFC Leopards

Kenyan international Paul Mungai is back in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after a troubled stint in Tanzania with Simba SC and he says he is happy to be back home after two years with the Tanzanian giants.

Having scored on his debut in a 4 – 0 drubbing of Thika United, the Kenyan international is looking to settle well back at home and Ingwe being his third Kenyan club after earlier playing for KCB and Gor Mahia he is counting on the experience to spur him at his current club.

“I have played in the Kenyan Premier League before and I know what to expect. I have also played for big clubs in the past so I was well prepared for this new job. So far, I am loving it and just hope the fans will be patient,” he said as quoted on the official KPL portal.

He declined to say much about his experience in Tanzania, instead opting to concentrate on AFC Leopards and gunning for a move outside Kenya soon.

“I can’t talk about that (Tanzania experience) now. I will talk about it perhaps at the end of the season. Ingwe gave me an offer which I thought was good at that time and I took it. I would like to concentrate on the future now because you never know. I may find myself playing outside KPL again soon. That’s my aim,” he added.
