Pinnick and NFF set for another court battle

Board-membership candidate in the 2016 Anambra State FA elections Odi Ikpeazu has threatened to drag Amaju Pinnick and the Nigeria Football Federation before a court of law if the process that produced Ifeanyi Ubah as the Anambra State FA chairman is not reversed.

The NFF-appointed normalization committee led by Ephraim Chukwuemeka, charged with the responsibility of conducting elections into the Anambra State FA had conducted ‘secret elections’ on Tuesday, May 3, as against the scheduled date of Wednesday May 4.

And as a result, Ikpeazu, a barrister at law, has also threatened to drag the ‘Glass House’ before a civil court following a similar threat by chairmanship candidate in the elections, Olisa Aniuno.

“The NFF must be in a dilemma and in an embarrassing situation,” Ikpeazu told

“They are complicit in the whole sordid affair and it doesn’t speak well of them at all and we are going to court very soon because his has been going on for a while.

“The time that has already lapsed is pretty ample enough and if in a week or so, there doesn’t seem to be any movements, obviously we cannot take it like that. We have to seek an interpretation (in court),” he said.

Meanwhile, the NFF and its leadership are yet to react to any of these, with their only reaction being a congratulatory message sent to Ubah by Pinnick, when the ‘elections’ held 24-hours before the due date.
