It is no secret that Manchester United Captain Wanye Rooney is wanted by Chinese Super League officials to become a poster boy for the sport overthere but amazingly, Shanghai SIPG has offered him a £480,000-per-week deal to make that happen.
According to the DailyMail, the former Everton star is set to be offered an incredible £75million to play in the Chinese Super League, translating to a whopping £25m-per-season.
Shanghai SIPG is currently managed by former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson but it is yet to be known if the England Captain will accept the offer as they are also interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) where the lure of playing with Andreas Pirlo, Frank Lampard, Clint Dempsey, and Obafemi Martin may appeal more to him.
However, Rooney still has three years remaining on his current deal with United, and though Chinese League chiefs are prepared to wait, they would ideally like him to join them as soon as possible.
Rooney missed Manchester United’s 3-2 loss in the UEFA Champions League against Bundesliga outfit, Wolfsburg which ensured that they dropped into the Europa league.
