Nigeria striker Shola Ameobi is over the heels after his goal scoring debut for Championship side Bolton Wanderers over the weekend.
Ameobi confessed that he would have loved a winning start but he can make do with his positive start at his new club.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 34-year-old said it was not an easy game, as the 10-man Bolton played out a 1-1 draw with visiting Leeds United at Macron Stadium.
“We didn’t get the win that we wanted, but we need to take the positives out of every situation,” the former Newcastle United, Stoke City and Crystal Palace ace said.
“On a personal point, I didn’t expect to play as many minutes as I did having not played a game in a while, but I was delighted to be able to contribute to the team.
“As a striker, goals breed confidence and it’s a great start for me. I’m not going to rest on that. I’m here to score goals and hopefully provide them too during my time here.”
