Asamoah’s future up in the air

Raja Casablanca striker Nathaniel Asamoah is already unsettled after only moving to Morocco two months ago.
The 25-year-old had moved from Ghanaian club Medeama SC, and thought he’d adapt easily due to the presence of fellow Ghanaians Awal Mohammed and Yakubu Mohammed.
Former Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol, now at Raja, isn’t convinced of him after eight games.

“Raja can terminate Asamoah’s contract because of his poor performance despite signing a three-year-deal,” revealed a source.

“He has played four matches but he is yet to impress the coach after all the hype about him. Ruud Krol has given him a chance but in the last friendly match played on Wednesday the coach reportedly gave Raja president the green light to part ways with Asamoah.

“For Yakubu Mohammed, he was also poor initially but he has the confidence of the coach so he is somehow safe. Awal Mohammed is one of the best players in Raja and in the Moroccan league at the moment. He is perfect and the supporters are really in love with him.”

Asamoah finished second in the top scoring charts in the Ghana Premier League last season. He was only overtaken by Kofi Owusu on the last day. So the player’s potential is there. It’s only a matter of taking time to prove himself.
