Enugu Rangers have climbed back to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
This follows their slim 2-1 win over Nasarawa United in the Friday night’s clash at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
How Enugu Rangers Conquered
The Flying Antelopes scored one goal in the first half and another in the second half of Friday’s highly entertaining encounter as they increased their points haul to 24 from 12 games.
Bobby Clement netted the curtain raiser in Friday’s contest as he found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.
Enugu Rangers doubled their lead in 56th minute and it was Obinna Nwobodo who increased the advantage for the hosts.
However, Nasarawa United attempted a fight back after Seun Sogbeso reduced the deficit in the 76th minute having calmly slotted in the penalty kick awarded his team.
The penalty converted gave the visitors some glimmer of hope they could at least have a share of the spoils from the Match Day 13 fixture.
The Enugu Rangers however held on tenaciously to their slim win-the seventh in the league this season and that has now helped them leapfrog their title-chasing rivals, FC Ifeanyi Ubah
