Arsenal have confirmed that Nacho Monreal has signed a new long-term contract with the North London outfit.

The Spaniard who turns 30 in February had 18 months to run on his contract but was offered an improved deal as a reward for his performances.

The Spain international who has featured in all 22 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches so far in 2015/16, helping the team keep 10 clean sheets along the way has been a reliable presence at left-back for Arsenal ever since his arrival from La Liga side Malaga in January 2013.

The club in an official statement on its website wrote;

“Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Nacho’s continued contribution to the club in the seasons to come.ade 214 appearances for the club between 2005 and 2011.”

Monreal has made more than 80 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, including a number at centre-back last season.
