With Issa Sarr’s importance devalued during Muhsin Ertugral’s reign at Bucs so far, legend Edward Motale has given his backing to the former captain.
Arguably Pirates best player, Oupa Manyisa’s return sees Sarr sit on the bench these days.
“I don’t think Issa Sarr is being left out by the coach because he is still an important player to the club. The coach knows what he is capable off that’s why he is trying for different combinations in midfield,” Motale told Goal.com
“I think the coach is trying different combinations and that takes time and sometimes it comes with pain like losing points and cups.
“But he needs to be given time to get the players to understand his culture of football and everything because he is new to the team,” Motale concluded to Goal.
Sarr made 32 appearances in all competitions for previous coach Eric Tinkler last season.
