Muhoroni Youth FC striker Wycliffe Ochomo may not play again for the team this season after a statement from the club revealed that he has been suspended, apparently for being a divisive force in the team.
On Friday 23rd September, the team’s head coach John Bobby Ogolla was at pains to explain his exclusion from the team in the match against Tusker at the Afraha Stadium, saying he had personal issues to sort and thus was not in the right mental state to feature in the match.
Separate reports however had it that the striker, KPL’s top scorer had contractual issues with his employers and had asked to be released from the club.
The club chairman Moses Adagala has now confirmed officially that the player stands suspended for distracting the team ahead of crucial final matches of the season.
Adagala says he will abide by a report on the striker from the technical team, indicating that the player has been suspended from the team until further notice.
“I have not been around for a few days and upon returning of course I found the team did not do so well in the past few matches and as such I also got a report from the technical bench indicating one of the reasons being negative energy in the team.
“It stated that Ochomo was suspended for that and I will be going with that because we are at a crucial stage of the season that we would better do with few of such sideshows,” he said.
