Former Ghana forward Mohammed Polo is frustrated that Black Stars coach Avram Grant ignores local based players for the national team.

“I think Avram Grant doesn’t respect Ghanaians,” Polo told Montie FM.

“One of the reasons why he is paid is for him to come down to monitor our local football. But this man has taken his own decisions and he is giving us his own excuses.

“How can he say he can’t stay here because players are moving outside Ghana? Can you stop a player from moving, even in Europe?

“The movement of players is part of football. This does not mean we don’t have good players in Ghana.”

Those who defend Grant have pointed out that the best local players are always moving abroad. However, the likes of Polo point out that this doesn’t mean that local players can be totally ignored, one can always unearth new talent before they go abroad.
