Shakhtar Donetsk’s head coach Mircea Lucescu has revealed that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is targeting Sevilla’s Yevhen Konoplyanka as the Blues boss continues the search for quality additions to his team.

Mourinho and his troops got back to winning ways on Saturday, beating Aston Villa 2-0 with Costa returning from his three-match suspension to inspire Chelsea to the much-needed victory.

A hooded Mourinho who was spotted in Kiev last week to watch Konoplyanka’s Ukraine lose 1-0 to Spain reportedly spoke with Lucescu and according to the Donetsk’s gaffer, Mourinho confirmed that Konoplyanka, along with Andriy Yarmolenko and Alex Teixeira, were all being considered as options for Stamford Bridge.

“Mourinho is interested in Yevhen Konoplyanka. I was at Ukraine versus Spain with Mourinho and he is interested in some players.

“Perhaps it is Yarmolenko or Teixeira, if not, then it is Konoplyanka.” Lucescu said as quoted on the Independent.

The 26-year old Konoplyanka moved from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk to the La Liga side Sevilla during the summer.
