Moroka Swallows’ problems were increased after they lost 5-0 to Milano United in an NFD game at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday.

Milano United 5-0 Moroka Swallows – Athlone Stadium

The home side were in command from the outset, going two nil up within nine minutes thanks to goals from Yusuf Jappie and Junaid Sait.

Former Platinum Stars midfielder Coldrin Coetzee chipped in with a third 10 minutes before the break with a lobbed goal.

The Kinnes added two more in the second half, Brandon Theron stealing through the Birds defence to net on 60 minutes before Lance Beyers completed the rout 10 minutes from time.

AmaZulu 4-1 Vasco da Gama – Princess Magogo Stadium

While Milano were dishing it out to Swallows at Athlone, neighbours Vasco were on the wrong end of a similar score-line as they went down in a heavy defeat in KZN.

Marc Van Heerden put Usuthu in front on 23 minutes with a left-footed pile-driver, Petrus Shitembi then heading in van Heerden’s corner on 42 minutes.

Shitembi was to earn AmaZulu’s third goal when he was awarded a penalty which Siyabonga Nomvethe converted. The Cape side pulled one back on 80 minutes, before Goodman Dlamini netted the hosts’ fourth in the 83rd minute.

Mbombela United 1-1 Santos FC – Kanyamazane Stadium

Mbombela went in front through Zolani Nkombelo’s 34th minute effort, but couldn’t hold on for the win as Zeca Marques’ side equalized in the second half through Faizel Johnson.

Mthatha Bucks 0-0 African Warriors – Mthatha Stadium

Bucks failed to make use of some good chances in the first half, but the point earned was enough to lift the team one place up the table to 15th, while Warriors are three points above the drop zone.
