Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero of Real Madrid as they won their eleventh UEFA Champions League crown defeating Atletico Madrid 5-3 in the final.
Ronaldo had failed to score in his four previous attempts at the Sansiro and was hoping for the rob of the green when they took on City rivals Los Rojiblancos in the final in Milan.
The Portuguese international failed to score during the first 90 minutes as Yannick Carrasco cancelled out Sergio Ramos opener to stretch the game into extra-time.
Ronaldo who was looking for a record equalling 17 goals scored in a single Champions League competition looked off the space as the game stretched into penalties and there his moment came as he scored the penalty that won Real Madrid their eleventh UEFA Champions League title.
Ronaldo will now go to the Euro 2016 in high spirit as he will hope to replicate club form for country and position himself to win his fourth Ballon D’Ór title.
