Former Germany skipper, Michael Ballack is very confident that his countrymen wil beat Italy when both teams meet in one of the quarter finals at the ongoing Euro 2016 Championships

Even though Germany has never beaten Italy at a stage like this, Ballack says he doubts the Italians will be able to pull off such a strenuous effort that has seen them brush aside other oppositions in France thus far

Germany and Italy will go head-to-head for Euro 2016 in Bordeaux on Saturday evening.

“I believe in a German win,” ex-captain Ballack told

“I doubt that the Italians will be able to pull off such a strenuous effort again like they managed against Spain.”

Germany have never beaten Italy in a major tournament but they are keen to do that this term as they go on in their mission to add the Euro trophy to the World Cup already in their kitty.
