Sony Sugar striker Masoud Juma’s emergence as the lead striker at the club, having only joined in the midseason transfer window from Bandari FC has come with a national team call up and he capped it with a goal against Western Stima in the Saturday 6 August Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash which Sony Sugar emerged 3 – 0 winners.
His maiden goal for the Millers came just a day after getting his first call up to the Kenya national team Harambee Stars and he admits it was a motivating factor heading to the match.
He is also thankful for the chance handed to him by the Millers’ coach and hopes the opening goal starts a good run for him and the team so he can repay the faith shown in him at the Awendo based side.
“I am enjoying my time at the team and the fact that I am getting a lot of play time; I am also happy to get my first goal for the team and maybe the fine performance was spurred by the call up. I am glad at everything and I hope I can extend with the fine form.
“The coaches and my team mates have been great and I want to continue scoring to lift the team and as a way of repaying the faith shown in me,” he said.
