Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho says he must prove himself to new boss Pep Guardiola by working harder in every training session and doing his best in games as well.
The 19-year old had a remarkable break-out season last term as he scored 14 goals despite coming off the bench more often than not, as Manuel Pellegrini showed faith in him.
But with the Chilean now gone and replaced by Guardiola, the Nigeria international reckons he must work harder to impress ‘great manager’ Guardiola.
“He’s a great manager coming to the team and I just need to work harder in every training session and do my best in every game,” he said.
Iheanacho appears set to remain at the club and become an integral part of the team for next season, as Guardiola is reported to be happy with his talent.
Speaking further, the former Nigeria youth international stated that he believes they will play better and win trophies next season.
“The aim of the team is to play well and win trophies at the end of the season and I think it is going to be good for us,” he added.
