Sergio Aguero was the hero yet again as Manchester squeezed out a lone goal win over Stoke City in one of Tuesday’s English Premier League

Aguero knocked in his sixth goal in his last four starts when Jesus Navas’ drive across the box fell to him eight yards out.

City were fortunate Lamine Kone headed wide a decent opportunity and indebted to Joe Hart and the post respectively for combining to keep out Jermain Defoe’s snapshot and Billy Jones’ follow-up.

From then on, Sunderland were arguably the better side, debutant Lamine Kone heading wide a glorious chance before Joe Hart saved brilliantly from Jermain Defoe on the turn.

The result means that Manchester City remain three points behind Leicester after the Foxes beat Liverpool 2-0.
