Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun will be playing Thursday’s Europa League group stage tie against French side Saint-Etienne with a protective mask fcnaija.com reports.
Balogun suffered a face injury over the weekend in the eight-goal thriller between Main 05 and Hoffeinheim in the Bundesliga.
Balogun and his teammates who were initially cruising away with a 4-1 lead , lost concentration and ended settling for a 4-4 draw in the dramatic clash.
The Nigerian defender played all 90 minutes in the enthralling clash despite the facial injury he sustained but will wear a protective mask in Thursday’s Europa League clash.
No time frame has been set on how long Balogun will be wearing the mask.
However the Nigerian appears to be very comfortable in the mask as he was all smiles in it when heading for training ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League game.
