Nigerian international John Ogu was left delighted after he helped Hapoel Be’er Sheva to a vital 2-0 win against bottom side Maccabi Netanya in the Israeli league fixture played yesterday.
The 27-year-old scored a screamer from almost 30-yards to double his sides lead after Felix Barda had scored on the stroke of half-time. Interestingly, Ogu’s goal was assisted by another Nigerian Anthony Nwakaeme who has seven goals to his name this season.
‘It was a great game and I scored a good goal,’ Ogu told 366football.com. ‘Natanya are last on the table and set out to defend but we got the first and the second followed to settle it.’
The win takes leaders Be’er Sheva to 54 points while Maccabi Netanya remains bottom with 10 points after 22 matches this season.
