Former Nigerian international Vincent Enyeama has hailed Lille fans for their amazing support to the team despite starting the new Ligue 1 season with a defeat.
The 34-year-old was in goal as the former French champions fell 3-2 in the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 season to Metz with the Nigerian receiving a yellow card in the 87th minute of the encounter.
However, Lille has since returned to training as they prepare for their game at home to newly promoted Dijon whom they last met in 2012 and have defeated in their last two fixtures.
Enyeama posted a picture of him and some teammates signing autographs for fans with the caption: “Always a beautiful side to behold. The fans, supporters, well-wishers, the 12th player. Let’s do the season together.
Enyeama made 101 appearances for Nigeria before retiring from international football on 8 October 2015.
