Former Berekum Chelsea striker Latif Salifu has been released by Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians confirmed the cancellation of the contract of the forward, who only just joined the club a month ago.
“We want dedicated players to come in here to help our course but if we find at any point in time that the player is not dedicated or ready to serve the course of Hearts of Oak then it wouldn’t be prudent to go ahead,” Hearts spokesperson Kwame Opare Addo told Joy Sports.
“Part of the agreement, Hearts was supposed to give him (Latif) part of the money that was in the contract and the player agreed to it.
“When the money was ready, anytime the player was called he gave excuses, and we deemed it as non-commitment from his end so we didn’t want to contest it any longer because he was refusing to pick anybody’s call so we feel he is not ready to play for us”.
Salifu is now linked with a move to Ivory Coast, but the reports are yet to be confirmed.
