Despite beating Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Tusker in a friendly match played on Tuesday at the Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi, the Niger national team skipper Koffi Dankwa says the Kenyan side is good.
The game ended 1 – 0 in favour of the Niger team which was using it as part of the preparation for the CHAN tournament in Rwanda.
The team left on Thursday for Kigali but before departure, Dankwa shared his sentiments after the match, stating that Tusker gave them a run for their money and admits the team gained a lot heading to the tournament.
“Tusker gave us a very good game; they have a good team and I think we gained from it going to the CHAN tournament. We are thankful that they accepted to play us and we wish them the best in the league in the coming season,” he said.
He knows the challenge is huge at the tournament in Rwanda but is confident that Niger will get something from it.
“As we head to the CHAN tournament we know it will not be easy but we will be giving our best to see that we get something from the tournament,” he added.
