The Premier Soccer League acting Chief Executive, Mato Madlala has welcomed newly promoted National First Division (NFD) clubs Magesi FC and Kings United.

The two clubs were promoted at the ABC Motsepe play-offs which ended on Sunday afternoon. They will now form part of the 32 members of the National Soccer League (NSL). This is the first time any of these two clubs have been members of the NSL.

Madlala said: “We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our two new members, Kings United and Magesi FC for this great achievement in their history. We welcome them to the NSL family and we look forward to working closely with them.

Through our induction process which includes the PSL Compliance Manual that covers a number of important aspects of club management from staging a fixture, security, marketing, football related matters, media and broadcast, we will equip Magesi FC and Kings United with the necessary knowledge and expertise expected at this level.”

Magesi FC will be the second club from Limpopo in the NFD together with Black Leopards. Kings United, on the other hand, joins the likes of Amazulu, Thanda Royal Zulu and Royal Eagles in KZN.

*Note: The two clubs that were relegated from the NFD are African Warriors and Moroka Swallows.
