Kenyan international Kevin Mungai Kimani’s transfer to Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Jomo Cosmos will not be happening after all; the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed the deal was canceled on mutual consent..
The midfielder, who left Tusker at the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2015 season has been with the PSL side since February as he sought to seal a move.
His debut was delayed by the lack of requisite paperwork meant to clear him for the move and his situation got worse with the club getting relegated to the National First Division (NFD).
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) national office says the parties canceled the deal on May 5 2016.
The winger, a former KPL Player of the Year, was not the only one to have a move abroad come crashing. Joe Wanjiku Kimani, who was poised for a move to FC Iberia 2010 in Georgia from FC Umeme, had his transfer rejected by FIFA by virtue of playing in an unsanctioned league as stated by the FKF.
