The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will be playing an active role in the forthcoming referees’ elections in the wake of disagreements among referees regarding the elections.

The run up to the polls has seen wrangles in the Kenya Football Referees Association (KFRA) with two groups of officials claiming to have the right to run the affairs of the association.

The FKF National Executive Committee (NEC), as revealed in a communique from the federation, has name a board of five members to oversee the polls and ruled that they be held before Friday 30 September.

The five are Herbert Mwachiro who is a journalist, Irene Tindi, and official at the Center for Multi Party Democracy (CMD) and former referees Kefa Onditi, Dan Musuku and Paul Mungla

Mwachiro will serve as the chairman of the board.

The federation further clarified that only the paid up members of KFRA will be cleared to vote and for that they will have to pay the regular affiliation fee of Kshs 1100.
