Despite having a long rest in December due to the U23 Afcon and Christmas break, Mamelodi Sundowns keeper Kennedy Mweene is adamant that his forces are not resting.

Mweene has pointed toward the massive fixture against Kaizer Chiefs on January 9, a game which Sundowns will need to be switched on for, in their quest for the PSL title.

The Brazilians have the right mentality when you consider that just before the break, they actually picked up their first silverware of the season already, beating the same Chiefs side in the Telkom KO final.

“We are professionals and we have to keep going at all times. We had that one week break during the Under 23 tournament, but for now there is not much resting at all,” Mweene told

Mweene reflects further on the Christmas break in South Africa.

“As players we know what we are supposed to do to remain fit and focused throughout the Christmas break,”the Zambian international said.

“We are starting the New Year with a big game against Kaizer Chiefs and we can’t afford to relax at all,” Mweene concluded.
