Carlos Tevez could return to hurt Manchester United albeit in a different way than would be normally imagined.
The Red Devils have been tracking highly-rated Boca Juniors forward Rodrigo Bentancur, but could miss out on the 19-year old due to a clause that saw Tevez return to Argentina from Juventus.
According to reports, Juventus have the first-option on youngsters at the Argentinian giants until April next year as part of the deal which saw Tevez make his way back to Boca Juniors in 2015.
Bentancur has been followed by United, Real Madrid and AC Milan, but a clause in the deal which saw Carlos Tevez return to Argentina means that Juventus are set to win the race for the midfielder.
With Boca now expected to accept Juve’s offer, it means that Tevez’s former club United look likely to miss out on the Uruguayan youngster.
“It is already signed. When I was in Switzerland recently Juventus informed me that that they were going to activate the option so I will travel to Turin soon in order to complete the deal,” Boca president Daniel Angelici confirmed with TyC Sports .
“I think it’s very good business for Boca. Juventus will pay £6.7million for 50 per cent of his rights.
“He must have something because there were a lot of clubs interested.
“Real Madrid made a proposal, Manchester [United] also came and Milan made a £12.5m formal offer to sign him.”
