Wolfsburg 3-2 Man United: Red Devils drops into Europa

Wolfsburg ensured that Manchester United will play in the Europa League as they defeated the Red Devils by 3-2 in Germany. 

The Red Devils began in the best possible fashion as they scored on 11minutes through Anthony Martial as he finished a brilliant pass from Juan Mata.

With result goalless in Holland between PSV and CSKA Moscow, the away fans were singing away because the win is what they needed to qualify but the home side had other plans as Naldo directed a Rodriguez free kick past David de Gea in goal to level scores at 1-1.

Rodriguez was soon replaced by Marcel Schafer due to injury before the 20minutes mark. The home side took the lead as German international Julian Draxler carved Manchester United defense open before laying it on a plate for Vieirinha to finish past de Gea again.

United had their own substitution in the first half due to injury as Matteo Darmain was replaced by Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and it looked like he assisted the equalizer he his past was floated into the net by Jesse Lingard but it was controversially ruled out for offside.

The second half was very open with chances for both teams. Former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle nearly caught de Gea of the line as he was running back towards goal but the Spaniard made an unorthodox save.

Memphis Depay had a shot saved but United levelled when Josua Guilavogui diverted the ball into his own net.

Wolfsburg were determined to win Group B as defender Naldo grabbed his second of the night as he headed in for 3-2.

in Holland PSV defeated CSKA Moscow 2-1 to finish second in the Group while Manchester United drops into the Europa Cup.
