Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah was upset about his ban from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) but he’s now admitted that they were right.
Mensah illegally transferred from Udinese to French Ligue 1 club Evian. The Serie A club’s complaint got the Black Stars player in hot water.
The reason he couldn’t move is because he was still under contract at Udinese. Such a move could only transpire if he was a free agent.
“The timing of my move to France was wrong and it was because I was disobedient and failed to listen to proper advice,” Mensah told Happy FM.
“I moved from Granada in Spain to Evian in France while I was still a Udinese player and I got banned for four months by Fifa.”
This year he was finally able to leave the club. In January he signed for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.
