Relegated club Jomo Cosmos will lose their striker Charlton Mashumba, and its glamour club Amakhosi who want him.
The Zimbabwean forward is also wanted by Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits. Cosmos owner Jomo Sono revealed the negotiations.
“Bobby [Motaung] did approach me to ask about Mashumba three weeks ago. But he never came back. It is not only Chiefs. Sundowns, Wits and the new Cape Town club of John Comitis are also interested,” Sono told the Sunday Times.
The 23-year-old Mashumba won’t be able to remain at Cosmos, Sono understands the reality of the situation in the NFD.
“We want to release the player. He has been very loyal to us. We won’t stand in his way,” added Sono.
