John Terry will miss Chelsea’s short trip to North London to face rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday,
as he is yet to recover from the ankle injury he suffered against Swansea a couple of weeks ago.
The 35-year old had missed the Blues’ last fixture against Liverpool and it was expected he would be fit to face Arsenal this week but he has failed to recover and will once again be missing from action and this much has been confirmed by the Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
“John didn’t recover from his injury. He’s working and working but he didn’t recover for the game against Arsenal.
“I don’t know when he will be back. In this case it’s important what the player feels, the pain he feels.”
The former Juventus manager also revealed that Cesc Fabregas could return to the starting line-up against his former club.
“For Cesc, that’s for sure, it’s a special game for him. But the most important thing for Cesc is that, now, he’s a Chelsea player and playing very well for Chelsea.
“I’m seeing him very focused, very concentrated, during the training sessions. He played a good game in the Cup. It can be a possibility that he can start in the line-up against Arsenal, but I have another day to make a decision.”
