One of the world’s greatest football legends Johan Cruyff has died aged 68 after suffering with cancer.
Cruyff was also one of the most important figures in the history of Barcelona and has been struggling with his health from last year, reporting that he needed heart surgery in October 2015.

“On March 24 2016 Johan Cruyff (68) died peacefully in Barcelona, surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with cancer,” a statement on Cruyff’s official site read.

“It’s with great sadness that we ask you to respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”

He won eight Eredivisie titles with Ajax Amsterdam, and was the central figure in making Total Football a success in Holland.
