Burnley midfielder Joey Barton has declared for Leicester City as the Premier League leaders bid to win their first title in history.
The Foxes lead with three points following their 2-2 home draw against West Brom at the King Power Stadium this evening but their performance on the night won them more admirers including the former Queens Park Rangers player.
Claudio Ranieri said his side were fourth favourites for the Premier League title behind Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester City, and Arsenal but like the rest of England, Barton is hoping Leicester wins the title this season which he reckons will be great for football.
Speaking with the BBC Sport, Barton stated: “You couldn’t wish for a better place to come and watch football. The place was jumping tonight.
”I can’t believe more people in the game don’t want Leicester to win the league. More people need to get on this bandwagon.
”It will be magnificent for football for them to win it now. I am a Leicester fan from now until the end of the season.”
Leicester’s three point lead may disappear tomorrow if Tottenham Hotspurs wins away at West Ham as they will go just top with ten matches left until the end of the season.
