Mark Hughes have made Joe Allen his second signing this summer after the Wales midfielder penned a 5-year deal with the Potters from Liverpool.
The 26-year-old now joins Egyptian Ramadan Sobhi as new arrivals at the Britannia as they continue to build their squad for the 2016/17 Premier League season.
Allen is believed to have cost Stoke City in the region of £13m and will immediately head out to their pre-season camp in Orlando after he was unveiled.
An excited Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes said: “We are delighted to get Joe. He was very impressive in that Capital One Cup semi-final against us last season. We wish he hadn’t been but he was. He was also very impressive in the European Championships and you don’t get in the team of the tournament for a competition like that unless you are a very good player.
“He could have stopped at Liverpool and he also had interest from elsewhere in the Premier League and a couple of top European clubs. I hope it is a sign of where we stand as a club he chose to join us.”
The former Swansea City midfielder made more interceptions (14) at Euro 2016 than any other midfielder.
