Kenyan striker Ismail Dunga has sealed the move from Kenya’s second tier side Nakumatt FC to Greek side Acharnaikos FC in the Greece second tier.
Dunga spent three weeks of trials with the side and on the final day of transfers, Nakumatt FC, through club secretary, Albert Wesonga confirmed the deal went through with the player handed a contract.
The financial details for the move were not immediately released but the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has already issued the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to facilitate the move.
In reaction to the development, Wesonga stated that the club wishes the best for the player after the move even as he termed it a blow for the Kenya side.
“The club has confirmed they have signed him so he is not our player anymore. It is a blow to us as a team and our ambition for promotion will suffer a bit but it is a step in the right direction for him in his career and we wish him the best.
“He served us well and we hope he does well there too,” Wesonga said of the player who was the team’s top scorer with eight goals at the time of departure.
