Alphonsus Dike resigns as Heartland Technical Adviser

Alphonsus Dike, Heartland FC

Heartland will be without Technical Adviser Alphonsus Dike for this weekend’s match in the Nigeria professional Football League (NPFL) against Ifeanyi Ubah, as he resigned from his post yesterday.

Dike accused the Owerri based club of sabotaging his efforts and cited an unconducive working environment as part of his reasons for stepping down from the job he only collected after nine games of the current season.

The notice of resignation dated July 18, 2016 was handed to the General Manager of the club, Oscar Keke on the same day and copied the chairman of the club, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.

With 11 matches remaining to the end of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Heartland needs to find a successor in time and rescue a season that has gone from good too.

Dike was the last coach to help the club to a league title back in 1993 when they pipped Insurance on the final day with a clinical 2-0 away win in Maiduguri against El-Kanemi making the Benin side’s 5-0 home win against Rangers useless.
