Innocent Wafula may be having questions on his nationality even as he earned a call up to the Kenyan national team and his team mate at Gor Mahia, Godfrey Walusimbi believes he can be a big player for the Harambee Stars.
Wafula is said to be Ugandan born but after a fine show for Gor Mahia on his first season, he earned a call up to the Harambee Stars.
Walusimbi says Kenya stands to gain a lot with Wafula in the national team as he believes his mate’s show for Gor Mahia, transferred to the national team will place Kenya well above opponents.
“Innocent is a very good player and can be an integral part of the Harambee Stars team if given a chance. We have all seen how he has been influential for Gor Mahia, giving his all in every game.
“I think the call up to the national team is a good one and Kenya stands to gain a lot though that now is for the coaches to decide,” he said.
The Kenya national team is scheduled to go to camp on Thursday 5 November to start preparations for the game against Cape Verde on Saturday 14 November.
