Nigeria midfielder Hope Akpan is a happy man after scoring his maiden goal for his Championship side Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Akpan put Rovers in the lead in their game against Sheffield Wednesday but the game ended all squared at 2-2 but the former Reading man confessed he is nonetheless happy even though a win would have be much better.
“Would of been sweeter if we got the 3 points but nevertheless happy to get my first @OneRovers goal & cheeky Mom “The 24-year-old Akpan wrote on his twitter handle after the stalemate at the Edwood Park.

Currently frozen out of the national team as the Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh posits he would only work with players in the top leagues across the world, Akpan will need to do much more if Rovers can snatch a promotion ticket back to the EPL a the end of the season.
That for now looks like a mountain to climb; as Blackburn Rovers are 14th on the league table with 21 points from 18 games.
