Former Nigeria international, Henry Nwosu has advised Coach Samson Siasia to among other things add more firepower to his attacking line-up if his dream to qualify Nigeria for the Rio Olympics is to be realized.
In a chat with 366football.com, Nwosu noted that the integrity of national U-23 team coach would be at stake as he seeks Rio 2016 Olympics ticket at the CAF U-23 Championship from November 28 to December 12 in Senegal hence there would be no room for errors.
“The team is not that bad but I think the attack is where the team is lacking and hopefully Siasia will tackle that before the qualifiers in Senegal, Nwosu began.
The former Golden Eaglets Coach said he is confident Nigeria should secure one of the berths to represent Africa at the Rio Olympics football event but with a caveat that qualification will by no means be cheap.
“Dream Team VI are in a very, very tough group. Egypt, Algeria and Mali are good sides with proven records. So it’s it not going to be easy for Nigeria. We just have to work extra hard to scale through,” said the former Golden Eaglets’ coach.
Though presently confronted with a slow response of players to report camp, Siasia has made some proactive moves which could see him get the needed bite in his attack line for the Senegal tournament.
The duo of Simon Moses and Taiwo Awoniyi are being wooed by the Beijing Olympic silver medal winning coach.
